When I am bored or in the mood to do something artistic, Zentangling is my favorite thing to do. The point of Zentangles is to create an abstract image using random patterns and designs. Most commonly, Zentangles are "free-handed" so there is no erasing. Most people who Zentangle use pen to prevent the temptation of erasing. In some places, Zentangle is a practice that is used to relax, decrease stress, increase creativity, and increase mindfulness. |

As Winston Churchill once said, "Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm." You cannot be successful if you are discouraged by your failures. People have to learn from their mistakes, not ignore or hate them. It is okay to have "[go] from failure to failure". You can make as many mistakes as you want as long as you learn from it. This is the case since you can only benefit from your mistakes. People who are successful move on from the mistakes "without loss of enthusiasm". Personally, I think that making mistakes is pointless if you aren't going to learn from it. You can't reach success without failure.
Mark Twain once said, "The secret of getting ahead is getting started". I believe this is very true since most people are hesitant to get started with their life. It seems like everyone is waiting for each other to start first, but they just end up waiting forever. In order to "get ahead", you have to "get started". It is better to start before anyone else does. That way, you would be ahead of them in life. Technically, if you get ahead of someone in life, you would be considered more successful than them.

Former minor league pitcher, Jorge Pena, slaps an angry woman, Danay Howard, aboard the F train. On a Friday night, Pena was riding the F train home after working a 12-hour shift when he was mocked by Howard and her friends. Out of the group, Howard was the main cause of trouble. Howard "verbally assaulted" Pena for his 1980s-style 8-ball jacket while her friends sat in the background and cheered her on. After being teased by the group, "the young woman was caught on camera making fun of the man and his style, and when he called her a bi**h, she hit him in the back of the head with her shoes" (madamenoire). Howard slugged Pena in the back of the head with her 6-inch stiletto and Pena responded by slapping her in the face, which sent her flying back. Pena slapped her with his right hand, the hand that once tossed 98 mph fastballs. With this, "the young woman’s friends [jumped] in to defend her honor" (madamenoire). Howard's friends all attacked Pena from different sides. Some people stepped in to calm down the women while Pena held down the other man. The main conflict here is: Was it okay for Pena to have slapped Howard and fight the others? In my opinion, it was okay for him to do so. They all attacked him and he was standing up for himself. http://nypost.com/2014/11/13/man-whose-epic-slap-went-viral-ive-never-slapped-anyone-before/ http://madamenoire.com/487883/woman-slapped-taunting-hitting-man-nyc-subway-charged-felony-assault-disorderly-conduct/ http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/nyc-crime/man-slapped-woman-train-wear-8-ball-coat-article-1.2010252
The following quote is an example of how the author discusses the complications of the topic of rape:
'The cops wanted to know if I was Zac's girlfriend, if I was drinking, doing drugs, if I ever worked as a stripper, if I ever kissed Zac before that night. What the hell does any of that have to do with what happened? Do the laws against sexual assault not apply to strippers? To girlfriends? I don't get that. (...) He thinks because I went to the woods, drank alcohol, and dressed the way I dress, I should have expected this to happen. That I actually wanted this to happen. (...) What the hell, just what the hell was wrong with how I looked...why does he care if I wear eye-black like the football team? It's my face. It's my body. I can dress it up or down however I want. Why is that such a hard concept for guys to accept? All that crap Jax said about dressing to be noticed - being noticed is fine. But being noticed isn't the same as being ridiculed, insulted, ostracised, shamed. Being noticed isn't an open invitation to guys to do whatever they want to me.' Pros: -This novel addresses a serious topic that many people don't completely understand. -It allows us to see how much rape can affect the victim and the people around them. -All of the characters and situations were believable. Cons: -This novel is not for immature people. Holly Mae Heinrich is an American singer/songwriter. Her music focuses on alternative. In Stettin, Wisconsin, seventy-five-year-old Roger Hoeppner is intimidated into paying his $80, 000 worth of fines by 24 cops and an armored military vehicle. Hoeppner owns a 20-acre property that is the cause of all of his tension with the local government. The tension between him and the local government started in 2008, when the the city sued him because of the state of his property. His land sits off a major highway and it is crowded with wood bunches and land equipment. He did not comply with the local government's request and in 2010, they complained again. This resulted in a judge intervening. Then, in 2011, a judge authorized the town to take away some of his items off of his property. By 2013, he still had not done what the local government requested. A final judgement was issued in April 2013, stating that he will receive a $500 fine everyday he did not comply. Even after the final judgement was issued, Hoeppner did not comply. Over time, all of his fines added up to $80, 000 worth of fines. Eventually, the local government sent 24 cops and an armored tank to show him that they are serious about this situation. After seeing the tank, Hoeppner gives up and pays his fine.
